What is a half check collar (Martingale style collar)?
It's a type of dog collar that provides more control over your dog without that choking effect of a slip collar. These style of collars are extensively used in training and they help to keep your dog's head from slipping through the collar during walks or when your dog gets too excited. A half check collar has a loop. When the dog tries to pull, the tension on the lead pulls the loop taut, which makes the collar smaller and tighter on the neck, thus helping to prevent escape. When the collar is properly fitted, it will be comfortably loose without your dog noticing until beginning to pull.
SIZING
Measure your dogs neck size right behind their ears, on the smallest part of the neck, to obtain correct sizing. Total width of this personalized half check dog collar is about 3 cm. All our collars are adjustable, about 2cm (3/4") smaller and up to 6cm (2.36") larger than the necksize you tell My K9.
CUSTOMIZATION
Our team works hard to make sure that your collar is made exactly to your expectations. All text is embroidered using capital lettering. Personalized text will not repeat around the dog collar. Personalized text will be placed on the collar at our discretion unless otherwise instructed.
Without specific instruction as to the placement of the lettering, we cannot accept responsibility for text covered after adjusting the collar. For best results, communicate the
exact neck size of your dog.
